Update Lowin Cologne watch...
I met with the creator of the Lowin watch today and he handed me over his second watch he made for delivery sofar. I am going to meet the new owner of this watch on Sunday.
The first watch sold left a very happy new owner, as can be read over here.
Newest Mondani book: Rolex Gallery (in 5 languages)
(Click on picture for further details on this book)Editore Mondani is presenting a new book about Rolex called 'Rolex Gallery'. The book contains some of the best Rolex photos I have seen and is written in 5 languages (English, Italian, Spanish, German, French).
I spoke to Giorgia Mondani about the reasons behind publishing this book in 5 languages. She responded that she would 'like to let people know that it is important to spread horological culture all over the world. The goal of her books is making collectors and passionate watchlovers able to recognize authentic watches and distinguishing good investments, as well as teaching them the main steps to collect Rolex watches, vintage and new. By translating a book in several languages, the first step is taken to 'go to the people', to make them understand everything concerning watches and especially Rolex.'

The ROLEX Red Submariner Reference 1680 (links to extensive information)
The below links contain the most extensive compilation of information on the Rolex Red Sub.
Personally, the Red Sub is my favorite Rolex. The Red Sub has an aura and feeling no other Rolex can compare with in my book.
Well, if you need to check which serial number matches which kind of dial, just click on the links below. Everything has been described by two experts. While Rolex never is clear cut on the information, and the below information will not be supported by Rolex, I believe it is a good indicator to measure originality. But take all the information with a grain of salt. There is always an exception to the exception...
Overview all different 6 dial version of RedSub (by Philipp Stahl).
Big 1680 Red Submariner post!!............Show all yours - different versions here!
Rolex Red Submariner Reference primer.
Everything Red Sub Reference (Long) (by Mark Lerman).
And the same article can be found here as well (by Mark Lerman).
James Bond is needed to solve this mystery...(from VRF)
This is a discussion on VRF.
There was an article on in "How to spend it" last weekend on a great watch find.
George Lazenby/On Her Majesty's Secret Service, 1969 was found by Matt Bain.
Figures for price now being asked was in the USD 250K range.
The watch was sold at estate sale and I quote from the James Bond Watch Blog "The original 2003 Christies buyer, he told me, has since passed away. The watch, then, was left to his daughter. Now, as hard as this must be to imaging for my loyal James Bond Watches Blog readers, she wasnt so much the 007 fan as her father; thus, she parted with the pre-Daytona, and it was from that buyer, a colleague, that Matthew Blain became aware of its availability."
Well this is news to me. I think I am still alive!!! And the watch is with a client of mine in his Rolex Collection!!!
